Cold Weather Clothing For Winter Camping and Bushcraft
Along with the YouTube video that I just uploaded about cold weather clothing for winter camping and bushcraft, I figured that it would be easier to put links on my website (with pictures!) rather than just put a bunch of links in the YouTube description box.
First, although it’s almost flattering that somebody out there is using pics from my Lester River Boreal Bushcraft Shirt video and scamming their crap product on FaceBook (and elsewhere), as Flava Flav said, “Don’t Believe The Hype!” Buy one straight from Jason at Lester River Bushcraft!
And now let’s get after it with some neck gaiters and hats….
If you’ve ever gone camping with me - regardless of what time of year it is, you know that I’m all about that buff.
Now let’s move on to the fantastic merino wool hooded neck gaiter, kerchief (shemagh sized), and handkerchief from North X North. Unfortunately, NxN went out of business, so their excellent products are no longer available.
And let’s not forget the awesome neck gaiter from Weather Wool!
Now let’s go from head to toes with some absolutely fantastic socks from companies like Darn Tough, Minus33, and SealSkinz.
Here’s the merino long sleeved base layer shirt from Smart Wool that I like so much…
Then there’s that Columbia Omni Heat long sleeve base layer shirt!
Though I prefer merino wool for many good reasons, this Omni Heat shirt is a solid option - especially for those who don’t play well with wool!
Before getting into synthetics, here’s a link to check out the Shemannel (flannel shemagh) from Jay Hercules at Opossum Pouch Soft Goods. I really like the color of the orange Shemannel that I’m wearing in the picture below…
And now let’s look at the fleece pants from The North Face that have lasted me around 15 years!!!
I don’t know if I can count the holes I’ve earned on this thing!
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the fleece lined leggings from The North Face or the Columbia down hat on Amazon, but they’re worth looking for - or at least try to find something similar if you think it’ll work for you!
